Shell
Princess III Gas Lift Flowline Project
Gulf of Mexico
The Shell Princess III Gas Lift Flowline Project consisted of the installation of 2.5 miles of 4.5" O.D. flowline initiating with a steel catenary riser (SCR) at the Shell Ursa TLP located in the Mississippi Canyon Block 809 area of the Gulf of Mexico in approximately 3,800 feet of water, and terminated with a pipeline end termination (PLET) located at the Princess P-4 and P-7 wells also located in the Mississippi Canyon Block 809 area.

CTI project management and construction personnel were integrated into the Shell Princess III Flowline Installation Team to provide project management support and construction management expertise in pipeline, SCR and topsides piping construction during both the planning and execution phases of the project, and performed the following functions:
  • Management of the refurbishment, modification, testing and layout of all SCR transfer and pull-in equipment required for SCR installation operations
  • Management and coordination of all offshore SCR transfer and pull-in operations on the Shell Ursa TLP
  • Management and inspection of the onshore fabrication and offshore installation of the above and below water riser hull piping connecting to existing topsides gas lift piping and facilities
  • Management and offshore coordination of all diving operations supporting SCR transfer and pull-in operations as well as hull piping installation operations
  • Technical engineering support for the review of all flowline, SCR, and PLET installation procedures provided by the Flowline Installation Contractor
