Shenzi Oil Export Pipeline Project
Gulf of Mexico
The 20" Shenzi Oil Export Pipeline is an 82-mile pipeline initiating with a 16" steel catenary riser (SCR) at the Shenzi Tension-Leg Platform located in the Green Canyon Block 653 area of the Gulf of Mexico in approximately 4,500 feet of water and terminating at an existing Ship Shoal Block 332-B platform in approximately 450 feet of water. The project included the installation of a 16" FlexJoint and vortex induced vibration (VIV) suppression strakes, two (2) in-line "wye" assemblies, twenty-three (23) foreign pipeline crossings, a 20" fixed riser installation, and pipeline commissioning through "First Oil".

The project also included the procurement, fabrication, installation, and hook-up of five (5) topsides launcher and meter skid packages and associated piping runs and numerous piping and skid tie-ins.

CTI project management and construction personnel were integrated into the Shenzi Oil Export Project Team to provide project management support and construction expertise in pipeline and topsides facility construction, during both the planning and execution phases of the project, performing the following functions:
  • Management of the procurement of key project materials
  • Management of pre-mobilization project engineering and planning activities
  • Offshore construction management and support
  • Onshore and offshore inspection services
