Tombua-Landana Project
West Africa
The Tombua-Landana Project was a green field development in Block 14, offshore Cabinda, Angola in West Africa. A new drilling and production platform was erected at the site in approximately 1,212 feet of water. Initial production was via a subsea tieback to the drilling and production platform. The tieback facilities consisted of the following:
  • A production manifold connected to provide six (6) production wells
  • A water injection manifold connected to four (4) pipeline water injection wells
  • Five (5) flowlines: two (2) production, one (1) test, one (1) gas lift and one (1) water injection, all connecting back to the corresponding rigid risers
  • An umbilical for hydraulic and electric controls, methanol, and chemical injection
CTI personnel were integrated into the Tombua-Landana Project Team to provide expertise in pipeline engineering, offshore construction, project management, onshore fabrication, and quality control. Examples of specific engineering and construction management activities performed by CTI included the following:
  • Reeled flowline design and construction management including the installation of Pipeline End Terminations (PLETs), subsea connectors, flexible jumpers, etc
  • Engineering and quality control support for flowline welding procedure qualification
  • Inspection support for flowline welding, pipe coating, and PLET fabrication
  • Subsea equipment installation engineering
  • Offshore construction management and client representation
  • Subcontract management for a mid-water riser tie-in
  • Riser system review and coordination between subsea and fabrication teams
  • Management of design, supply, and installation of mooring systems
  • Support for subsea commissioning and dewatering of pipeline systems
