Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited
Malongo Emergency Pipeline Repair Project
Angola
The Malongo Emergency Pipeline Repair Project (EPRP) was implemented by Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC) to minimize production downtime in the event that a shallow water subsea pipeline is damaged and requires immediate repair in Block 0 off the coast of Malongo, Angola. The goal of the EPRP was to efficiently respond to various pipeline leaks that may occur in the area. To achieve this goal, EPRP consisted of three (3) different phases:
  • Phase 1 - Pipeline Data Collection & Development of Repair Equipment Requirements
  • Phase 2 - Develop Pipeline Repair Parts Access Plan
  • Phase 3 - Procurement of Repair Parts & Training Requirements
The EPRP repair system is applicable for gas, water or oil pipelines with pipeline diameter randing from 4-in up to 42-in diameter.

At the request of CABGOC, CTI project management and engineering performed the following tasks during the three (3) phases of the project:
  • Create all project documentation including installation procedures, project execution plans, EPRP databases, storage and maintenance plans, and project specifications
  • Provide requisition forms and technical assistance during all bidding processes, including pipeline repair materials, equipment storage and warehousing and miscellaneous equipment fabrication
  • Provide a Class 3 Cost Estimate for all pipeline repair materials and construction equipment
